Davis, Schulenburg's Moore earn all-state honors

Gonzales'
Taylor Davis and Schulenburg's Casey Moore helped lead their teams to their
respective regional tournaments and their efforts were rewarded.
Davis
and Moore were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' all-state
team. Davis was selected on the Class 3A squad
and Moore was
picked for the Class 2A team.
Davis,
a 6-foot-4 senior, averaged a team-leading 16.7 points a game for the Apaches,
who advanced to the finals of the Region IV-3A tournament. Davis also averaged 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists
and two steals per game.
Moore,
a 6-6 senior, averaged a team-leading 20 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for
the Shorthorns, who advanced to the semifinals of the
Region IV-2A tournament. Moore
also averaged three steals and two assists per game.
Memorial's
Austin Hodges was selected to the TABC's Class 5A
all-region team and El Campo's Travis Pflughaupt was
chosen for the Class 4A all-region team.
Gonzales'
Davis and John Scott and Wharton's Jamial Shelton
were picked for the Class 3A all-region team.
Schulenburg's
Moore, Industrial's Matt Benton and Rice Consolidated's Taylor Cook were
selected for the Class 2A all-region team.
Flatonia's
Hunter Pinney, Louise's Kyle Koudela
and Pettus' Israel Charles were Class 1A, Division I
all-region picks and Waelder's Roderick Alexander was
chosen for the Class 1A, Division II all-region team.
